Losing Dad and Finding Humanity

Losing Dad and Finding Humanity

Sarah’s family life was altered forever when she lost her Dad to a terrible car accident when she was just 4-years-old. Since that tragic day, her family chooses to thrive in the midst of their loss.

As naive teenagers, Sarah and I loved planning out our future. We made up mock wedding invitations and dreamed big, but life has not turned out quite the way we planned.

At 38, Sarah has never married or had children. It’s not the path she planned, but what she’s found along the path is one of the most beautiful journeys’ I have ever witnessed. Sarah has found great purpose through humanitarian work that has put all of her challenges into perspective.

We sat down to talk about blessings found amidst our grief and how so often the greatest gifts are found along the road less traveled.
