The Upside of Down Syndrome

The Upside of Down Syndrome

Spend 1 minute with this young woman and she is sure to brighten your day. I first met Sarah Patterson through an incredible program called “Miss Amazing” which gives women and girls with disabilities the opportunity to compete in a pageant. I was a judge that year and I’m proud to say I voted for her and she went on to win a National title.

Sarah radiates joy. She encourages people around her to view the world in a more positive way and she has been a good reminder to me that “disabilities” or a “diagnosis” is just a label. You can do anything you set your mind to and Sarah is living proof of that. This is her story.
